Left It All Behind
Kyle Ledson's 2021 sophmore release and full length album recorded at Ancient Waves Studios in Grass Valley, CA and Tiny Telephone Oakland. Nat Keefe from Hot Buttered Rum produced the album and Oz Fritz was our main sound engineer. Recording guest artists include Ben Kaufmann from Yonder Mountain String Band, Dan Lebowitz, Ezra Lipp and Steve Adams from ALO, Erik Yates & Nat Keefe from Hot Buttered Rum, Peter Dominici, & Zebulon Bowles. You can hear the growth and maturity of Kyle's music talent throughout this "jam"-packed album.
Crooked Mandolin
Kyle Ledson's 2016 debut EP was recorded in analog at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco. Nat Keefe from Hot Buttered Rum produced the album and Jacob Winik engineered our sound. We had some amazing talent helping out in the studio. Erik Yates, Bryan Horne, Nat Keefe & Zebulon Bowles from Hot Buttered Rum helped back most of the tracks. The T Sisters sang backups on Don't Come to Me and Sleepy Willow. The 2017 & 2018 IBMA flatpicker of the year winner, Molly Tuttle, sang backups and picked some top-notch guitar on Road Signs and Never Loved Me. We also snuck in a duet with my Dad.

Ever since he picked up a fiddle at the age of three years old, Kyle Ledson has immersed himself in music, taking influences of the bluegrass world & The Grateful Dead to create his own original acoustic music for a more modern “Jamgrass” scene.
Kyle’s first album release, “Crooked Mandolin,” saw him collaborating with childhood heroes like Hot Buttered Rum, the T Sisters, and the incredibly talented, flat picker of the year, Molly Tuttle when Kyle was just a 14 year old 8th grader. After experiencing life in the recording studio and all the inspiration that came with that, Kyle has been writing, playing, & growing with a fiery momentum. The culmination of such, Kyle released his sophomore album, “Left It All Behind” in 2021, which features some amazing special guests including Ben Kaufmann, the legendary bassist of Yonder Mountain String Band, Dan Lebowitz, Ezra Lipp, & Steve Adams from the amazing band ALO, and others.
Kyle’s solo live experience features fast picking guitar with hard driving bluegrass, original music, thought-provoking lyrics, and unique cover tunes. In 2021-2022, Kyle Ledson & Friends projects took on the life of their own with two new bands- An acoustic jamgrass trio, Broken Compass Bluegrass based in Grass Valley and an electric jamband called Cosmic Frog out of Chico, CA. Kyle is looking forward to leaving his mark on the music festival scene in a town near you.. THANK YOU for all your support and love!

The group immediately rebranded themselves as Broken Compass Bluegrass and have continued to gain notoriety among California's most predominate up and coming jamgrass bands.
